Janjgir Champa: Police received information late on August 25 in Lagra village of Mulmula police station area that an 8 -year -old child was missing. The family of the child lodged this complaint. On this information, an investigation was started by registering a case at the Mulamula police station in the case of kidnapping of missing person and minor.
Late in the night, the police reached the village and questioned the family members, the villagers. The police went back when no clue was found. On the second day on 26 August, the police resumed its investigation. CCTV footage, villagers were questioned, reservoir and pond were searched. Nothing of the kidnapped child was found that day. After this, on August 27, the police took the help of Dog Skowide. The family and relatives of the child were closely questioned.
During this time, the police suspected the cousin of the kidnapped child. Whose name is Rahul Tandon. When the cousin was detained in custody, it was revealed that he had kidnapped his brother. Information of the child was taken from him. On the spot of Rahul Tandon, the kidnapped child was recovered from Ratanpur area. The main accused and three of his associates were also caught by the police.
Displeasure with uncle over land sharing: Deputy Superintendent of Police Umesh Kumar Kashyap, while disclosing the case, said that Rahul Tandon, his father and his uncle, Emperor Tandon’s father used to have a rivalry over the sharing of the land. He kidnapped his cousin to ask for 10 lakh ransom from uncle. First of all, Gama made his brother sit in the truck. After this, other companions Prashant Kumar Maina, Umesh Diwakar and the minor partner sat together in another vehicle in Khapatratad. Ratanpur took the child to the forest in Amarkantak.
Umesh Kumar Kashyap further said that the mastermind of the entire incident is Rahul Tandon, the son of the elder father of the child. Rahul Tandon had instructed his colleagues not to demand ransom unless he says them. Therefore, the accused did not demand ransom. The accused had promised to give five lakh rupees to his colleagues on receiving a ransom of Rs 10 lakh.
