Director Rohan Kanwade’s film ‘Sabar Bond’ has made history by winning the highest honor at the Sandance Film Festival. The film has been supported by reputed executive producers like Nagaraj Manjule, Nikhil Advani, Sai Tamankar and Vikramaditya Motwane. The film will also be released in theaters on September 29. Director Rohan Kanwade has taken a timely chat with Navara Narayha and has told him the journey of his entire film.

What do you say about the film has made history at the Sandance Film Festival?

Answer: The movie ‘Sabe Bond’ won many awards at the Sandance Film Festival. And with all these awards, the film is getting a different identity. I am very happy with this. The movie ‘Saber Bond’ is getting a different identity. And now the film is being released in the cinema. The audience will be able to know the story of the film in the cinema. A director is always a dream that the audience should watch your film through theaters and give it a lot of love. And I am happy that this dream is finally fulfilled.

‘Saber Bond’ is your first film, but what was the experience of doing this movie?

Answer: No one likes to direct anyone in my house, nor have I studied the direction. And despite all this, I had a desire to make a movie. I was very excited to do this movie. We have worked on this movie for 3 years. And now the film is being released in the 5th now that it is a lot of me. Before I started the film’s work, I had a lot of refusal before, and so many times I wondered whether this movie would go ahead. Will the audience like the story? But the film received many awards. And the path to the next success was easy.

If this movie is a commentary on friendship and love, how did you know the idea of ​​this movie?

Answer: I am born in Mumbai. Even when I was a kid, I have gone to the village many times. But after 3, I did not go to the village and once I suddenly passed away my father prematurely. And then I went to town with my mother. And I remember when I was 3 years old, I always thought about my marriage, my mother also asked my marriage. And then I start to avoid going to the village. I never went to the village after that. I didn’t want to tell my family and relatives about my sexuality, because I did not know that they would react. But why don’t you get married? The question was so pressured on me that I started to feel that if I had a friend in this village and had all the ideas about it, what would have happened? Such thoughts came into my head and the story of this movie was created.

What exactly is Saber Bond? This word is as new for the general and gen z

Answer: I have to say that the name of this movie is Sabe Bond, the audience should know this movie in the theater. Because when this movie is experienced in front of the audience, they will understand the story of the relationship and the story of the film and know why the film is named. Nevertheless, Saber Bond is a fruit name. And these fruits also have a lot of benefits. So when the audience watch the movie, they will know that the character in the film is the same. Also, the main two characters in the film have to go through very difficult situations and after that it starts with the true relationship. Their friendship’s grandson became even stronger.
