Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has announced a new financial assistance initiative aimed at providing monthly support to women across Punjab. The programme, titled Mukh Mantri Mawan Dhian Satikar Yojna, is intended to offer regular financial assistance to eligible women in the state.



According to the announcement, women beneficiaries under the scheme will receive ₹1,000 per month. Women belonging to Scheduled Caste communities will receive ₹1,500 per month. Officials stated that the programme has been allocated a budget provision of approximately ₹9,300 crore to support its implementation. The Chief Minister indicated that the registration process for the scheme is expected to begin from Vaisakhi, which is widely celebrated in Punjab and marks the beginning of the harvest season in the region. Authorities said that preparations are being made to start the enrolment process so that eligible beneficiaries can apply for the scheme.



Government representatives noted that the initiative is intended to reach women across different districts of the state. The administration has stated that efforts will be made to implement the programme on an accelerated basis to ensure that eligible applicants are included at the earliest stage of the rollout. Financial assistance programmes targeting women have been introduced in several states in recent years as part of broader social welfare policies. Such initiatives generally aim to provide direct income support and contribute to household financial stability, particularly for women who may have limited independent sources of income.



The announcement was made as part of the state government’s wider policy measures outlined in the budget for the upcoming financial year. Officials indicated that the scheme forms one of the key welfare initiatives planned for the state and will involve administrative coordination across departments to manage registration and distribution of funds. Further details regarding eligibility conditions, documentation requirements and the mechanism for transferring funds are expected to be clarified through official notifications and guidelines once the registration process begins.
