New Delhi: Ranveer Singh’s new film ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge’ has created a stir at the box office. It created history on the very first day of its release. Whereas earlier 100 crore net collection was a big milestone for a film, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ crossed this figure in just 24 hours. This is a new record in Hindi cinema.

The fun started with the preview shows.

Paid preview shows of the film started from the evening of 18 March. The audience gave tremendous response in these shows. According to Sacknilk and other trade reports, the film earned Rs 43-52 crore gross from the previews alone. At many places the shows went on after 4:30 pm, but the crowd was so huge that the theaters were packed. This is more than the opening day of the first part ‘Dhurandhar’, where only Rs 28 crores were collected.

Fire in first day booking

There was an uproar on ticket booking platforms since the morning of its release on March 19. Lakhs of tickets were sold in one hour, which broke many old records. The film earned more than Rs 30-40 crore in advance booking. It was estimated to be Rs 60-75 crore nett on the opening day taking the whole day together, but with the preview the total collection reached above Rs 100 crore nett. In some reports it is being said to be Rs 105-113 crore.

Earlier, films like ‘Pathan’, ‘Jawaan’, ‘Animal’, ‘Stree 2’ took 2 days to reach Rs 100 crore. But ‘Dhurandhar 2’ did this work in just 24 hours including preview and first day. This happened for the first time in Hindi films when a film crossed Rs 100 crore nett on the first day. Even in overseas, the film made pre-sales of more than 75 crores, the total worldwide opening can reach around 200 crores.

Looking at the craze of the film, it seems that it can reach Rs 500 crore in the weekend and Rs 1000-1300 crore in its lifetime. This spy action film of Ranveer Singh and director Aditya Dhar is being liked very much by the audience.
