A secluded Cornwall beachhas been likened to something straight from a fantasy, thanks to its golden sands, sparkling waters and striking rocky cliffs. Nanjizal Beach, situated on Cornwall's south-west coastline near Land's End in the parish of St Levan, has stayed remarkably unspoilt through the years.
Despite receiving recognition on social media platforms, the beach continues to avoid massive visitor numbers.According to Cornwall Beaches: "Situated at the end of a short, shallow valley, the beach changes from year to year. Sometimes it's a boulder-strewn cove, whilst at other times there is a stretch of golden sand across the bay.
"One thing that remains constant is the unusually clear blue water. For those wanting more than just the view, there are plenty of caves and interesting rock formations to explore.
"Most visitors are walkers following the coastal path, although in recent years it has become more popular thanks to Instagram."
Discussing the location on TikTok, @hiddengems.app posted: "POV: You found the best secret beach in Cornwall" - accompanied by a stunning video of its renowned sea cave.
The cave, frequently dubbed online as the "Song of the Sea", is known locally as Zawn Pyg, meaning "pointed chasm".
Cornwall Beaches continues: "What makes the Song of the Sea so enchanting is the lagoon of emerald water running through the cave, along with the magical light that floods through the arch in the afternoon.
"The two natural pools within the cave, known as Big and Little Muzzan, can be perfect for a dip when conditions are calm. However, the far end of the cave is open to Atlantic swells, which can be very powerful."
The beach is also a haven for wildlife. Nestled within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, it's a favourite amongst birdwatchers and is an excellent location to spot seals, particularly near Zawn Reeth.
Reacting to the video, one user said: "This was the most stunning walk we did from Land's End to Nanjizal.
"The water was absolutely freezing to cross, but it was incredible - the wild horses, the little waterfall, just stunning!"
Another added: "We are so lucky to have this on our doorstep. You can't beat Cornwall."
A third said: "Just wow. It looks so serene."
An additional user commented: "Porthcurno Beach below the Minack Theatre is similar - the sea is so blue you'd think you were abroad, especially on a hot day."
