Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s latest cinematic collaboration, Bhooth Banglais currently the talk of the town. After a power-packed opening weekend that brought smiles back to the faces of Bollywood exhibitors, the film has now entered the most critical phase of its theatrical journey the Monday Test.
Released on April 17, 2026, Bhooth Bangla witnessed a steady climb during its first three days. The horror-comedy, which features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadavcapitalized on the nostalgia of the Akshay-Priyadarshan duo. After a decent Friday, the film saw a significant jump on Saturday and Sunday, crossing the ₹50 crore mark in gross collections within the first weekend.
As per early trade reports, the film has shown a standard weekday dip. On its fourth day (Monday), the morning occupancy started at around 8-10%. However, the advance booking for Day 4 remained encouraging, with nearly 1.29 lakh tickets sold beforehand. This indicates that the film still has a grip on the audience, despite the usual Monday slowdown.
The journey for Bhooth Bangla isn’t without hurdles. It is currently facing stiff competition from the blockbuster run of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2. While the latter has been dominating the screens, Bhooth Bangla has managed to carve its own niche, especially among family audiences and fans of the horror-comedy genre.
If the film manages to maintain a steady collection of ₹6-8 crore net on weekdays, it is well on its path to becoming one of Akshay Kumar’s most successful post-pandemic releases. The “Monday Test” results will be decisive in determining whether the film has the “legs” to run for several weeks or if it will fizzle out before the next big release.
