After his impactful role as a police officer in the acclaimed web series 'Sacred Games' in 2018, Saif Ali Khan is set to don the police uniform once again. This time, he stars in the Netflix crime drama film 'Kartavya', produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment.

During a launch event held in Mumbai on Thursday, the streaming platform unveiled the trailer for 'Kartavya'. In the trailer, Saif portrays an officer named Pawan, who finds himself under scrutiny after failing to protect a journalist.

He faces not only the pressure from the system but also the challenges of a crumbling personal life. The trailer depicts Pawan grappling with the conflicts between family, duty, and self-respect, where every decision could alter the course of his life.

Netflix India shared the trailer on its social media accounts, captioning it, "Every decision is a challenge, and every duty is an obligation. 'Kartavya' will premiere exclusively on Netflix on May 15." The film also features notable actors such as Rasika Dugal, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Manish Chaudhary, and Saurabh Dwivedi in significant roles.

In a statement regarding the film, Saif mentioned, "Pawan is a character who constantly battles with himself. On one side are his own thoughts, on the other are the expectations placed upon him, and then there are the things he must protect at all costs. The unique aspect of 'Kartavya' is that it doesn't provide easy answers; instead, it places you in challenging situations where every decision comes with a personal cost."
