New Delhi: Team India cricketers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shafali Verma have been served with notices by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) after missing the scheduled dope tests last year. According to a PTI report, the two cricketers, who are a part of NADA’s Registered Testing Pool (RTP), did not give any reasons for missing the tests, which led to the notices.

“Notices have been issued to the concerned athletes, and the same has been intimated to the national federation (the BCCI) and the ICC,” a well-placed source told PTI, even though NADA declined comment due to confidentiality of the procedure.

A Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) source also confirmed the same development to PTI and said that they have received the notification from NADA on the missed test. He further added that they will check with the players and will take necessary steps to avoid such things in the future.

“Cricket is back in the Olympics, and we need to adhere to all the protocols so that everything goes on smoothly,” the BCCI source told PTI. Yashasvi is currently playing for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2026, while Shafali was recently involved in the T20I series against South Africa.

Athletes in the RTP need to share their whereabouts with the NADA and be available for testing in a specified window every day. Three missed tests are considered a doping violation, which can lead to suspensions.
