Chinese short-drama actor Huang Zi Qian, known for his roles in popular “CEO romance” web series, has died at 24 following a motorcycle accident.

Following the accident on May 11, he died after several days of treatment, according to Hongxing News. Fellow actor and close friend Ren Jiuhan wrote an emotional tribute on May 19: “I never imagined that our reunion would be seeing you carried out of a morgue freezer, lying there so still, as if you were only asleep.”

Huang had a passion for motorcycles. In March, he posted a photo of himself riding with the caption: “While I’m still young, even broken bones heal fast.” He had dreamed of starring in a racing-themed film about people who live for speed.

Huang entered the short-drama industry in 2024 and appeared in several productions such as “Back to the 80s: With age comes wisdom” and “Meeting You in the Rain” before gaining wider attention in 2025 with CEO romance drama “Today President Lu Gets Married,” which topped Baidu’s short-drama rankings.
