Mumbai: Bobby Deol is in the headlines these days for his upcoming film ‘Bandar’. With this film, he is working with director Anurag Kashyap for the first time. ‘Bandar’ has already received praise in many international film festivals. Now after a long wait, this film is going to be released in Indian theatres. Fans are very excited about this.
‘Bandar’ is a dark thriller. It is shown in the trailer that Bobby Deol’s character Sameer meets a girl through a dating app. There is a chat between the two. After this suddenly the police comes and arrests Sameer.
Sameer says that a false case has been imposed against him. The girl’s character also increases the suspense in the story. After watching the trailer, many people felt that women were shown in a negative manner in the film. It started being called an ‘anti-woman’ film on social media.
Now producer Nikhil Dwivedi has broken his silence on the questions being raised regarding the film. Speaking to Times Now, he clarified that ‘Bandar’ is not against women. This film is based on one man’s fight for justice.
Nikhil said, “Our film is not at all against women. We are also looking at the Twisha Sharma case. What happened is very sad. It should be properly investigated. If a crime has been committed, the culprits should be punished. ‘Bandar’ is not anti-women, it is a pro-justice film.”
Nikhil further said that no one is saying that do not believe a woman if she is wrong. But it is equally important to believe in justice. We believe in justice more than any one gender. This is the biggest strength of our Constitution and law.
This is the foundation of democracy. In the end, justice must prevail. Bobby Deol’s ‘Bandar’ will be released in theaters on June 5. Artists like Saba Azad, Sanya Malhotra, Riddhi Sen, Jitendra Joshi and Sapna Pabbi will be seen with him in the film.
