India's ODI and Test skipper Shubman Gill grabbed the attention away from the cricketing action by paying a visit to the Mercedes Formula 1 garage on the weekend of the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The India and Gujarat Titans skipper was seen interacting with the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship leader, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, in a video that went viral on the internet.
The gathering of two of the most promising young talents in different sports. Gill was spotted hanging around in the Paddock of Mercedes, chatting sportively with the Italian GP driver before the race.
Gill, who was wearing a green linen shirt and white trousers, and teammate Antonelli, who was wearing his Mercedes kit. Fans from the two sports, cricket and Formula 1, enjoyed seeing the crossover between the two sporting icons.

Gained much more popularity when the franchise, led by the man himself, decided to join the hype by tweeting back to the post.
"Oh, this collab is dominating the grid," said the franchise on Instagram
Immediately, the message already has over a thousand likes and comments. Fans appreciated that Gill was chatting away to Antonelli. Supporters loved the pictures of the Indian cricketing superstar wandering around the F1 paddock during his Silverstone adventure.
The clip kept on trending on social media, with fans all over the world sharing pictures and videos from the encounter.
Antonelli's Race Ends in Disappointment
Despite all the excitement about the off-track encounter, Antonelli's lap was not a happy affair.
The Mercedes driver appeared to be fighting off the leading quartet before experiencing a mechanical failure while racing. On lap 41, a failure of the left front wheel shield saw him drop down to the lower end of the results, eventually finishing in 16th place.
Championship leader Charles Leclerc of Ferrari took victory in the British GP, capitalising on unpredictable race conditions. George Russell, driving for Mercedes, finished the race in second position, with Hamilton in third.
Antonelli had a tough time of it all afternoon on the Circuit, but his interview with Gill was still one of the talking points of the race weekend. It exemplified the permanent link appearing between cricket and Formula 1 with renowned cricketers attending Grand Prix anywhere in the world.
