1. Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, Bank or Post Office

To change your photo in Aadhaar card, you will have to go directly to your nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra, authorized bank branch or main post office. Photo update requires biometric data and a new live picture, so it is mandatory to go to the center in person.

2. Fill in the Aadhaar update form and provide the necessary information.

After reaching the Aadhaar center, you will have to fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/Correction form. In this form, you will have to write your correct information and tick the ‘Photo Update’ option. After that, this form will have to be submitted to the officer sitting at the counter.

3. Biometric Verification and Live Photo

After submitting the form, the operator will scan your biometric information such as fingerprints and irises through a computer system. Then, a brand new and clear live image of you will be captured through the webcam camera located at the center.

4. Pay the prescribed fee and save the receipt

After completing this entire process of photo and biometric update, you will have to pay the prescribed service charge at the center through cash or digital means. After paying the fee, you will get a receipt (Acknowledgement Slip), on which the Update Request Number (URN) is written. With the help of this number, you can check the status of your application online. Usually, the new photo is updated in the Aadhaar card within 15 days of this process.
