The District Magistrate reviewed all the council schools and Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in the district today in the Collectorate Auditorium. Reviewing the situation of block-wise schools, he instructed the concerned officers to ensure immediate resolution of essential deficiencies on priority basis.

The District Magistrate directed all the Block Education Officers to immediately remove the deficiencies in the schools by establishing coordination with the concerned headmasters, departmental officers and concerned departments. He directed the Superintending Engineer Electrical and officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply by taking immediate necessary action in schools where power supply is disrupted due to some reason.

He instructed to maintain regular and better cleanliness system in all the schools. Also asked to ensure that waterlogging does not arise in any school premises. If a waterlogging situation occurs, the concerned Block Development Officer should ensure immediate drainage arrangements. He also directed to completely ensure the parameters of Kayakalp scheme in schools.

The District Magistrate gave instructions to clearly paint “Entry prohibited, the building is dilapidated” in those schools of the district which have dilapidated buildings in their premises. He said that the safety of children should be the top priority in schools and there should not be any negligence to security at any level.

While reviewing the arrangements of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls Schools, the District Magistrate directed the District Panchayat Raj Officer to send teams of sanitation workers to all the Kasturba Gandhi Schools and conduct a special cleanliness campaign in and around the school premises within the next three days. He also gave instructions to install big dustbins in the school premises and ensure regular garbage collection. He instructed all the block education officers to visit Kasturba Gandhi schools regularly and inspect the condition of educational and infrastructure facilities there and maintain the necessary arrangements.

On this occasion, the District Magistrate said that quality and better educational facilities should be provided to the children in all the schools. All necessary basic facilities in schools should be organized and functional and teachers and all personnel should discharge their responsibilities with full devotion, promptness and responsibility.

He also instructed the concerned officers to regularly visit the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe hostels and to maintain all the necessary facilities including residential, sanitation, electricity, drinking water and other facilities there.

Chief Development Officer Anand Kumar Shukla, District Development Officer, Joint Magistrate Thanigairson T, District Basic Education Officer, District Panchayat Raj Officer, Superintending Engineer Electrical, All Executive Engineer Electrical, All Block Development Officer and Block Education Officer and officials of other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
