There is a long history of racism in our country. But the lesson of religious freedom to India! Ahead of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat's visit to New York, USCIRF (USCIRF) chief Asif Mahmood demanded a ban on the RSS.

Asif recently said, “Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a member of the Sangh. This Indian organization has many branches, which carry out continuous attacks on people of Christian and Muslim communities. Attacks on minorities. Now the Sangh chief Bhagwat is planning to visit America.” Asif's comments were made public by USCIRF Commissioner Gene Mills. At the same time, he said, “Sangha leaders, even if they are associated with the Indian government, should not have any high-level meetings with them. They should not even be honored with diplomatic courtesy. Instead, the US government should impose sanctions on the Sangh for violating religious freedom.” On the other hand, the American human rights organization 'Hindus for Human Rights' has also criticized this visit of Bhagwat.

But here comes the question. Washington has repeatedly questioned religious freedom and minority rights in various countries, including India. But is American society free from discrimination? Discrimination between black and white citizens has a long history in Washington. The most talked about name in the pages of that history is – George Floyd.

Incidentally, last March USCIRF presented a report on religious freedom in India. It is claimed that religious freedom is being eroded in India. The agency also recommended imposing sanctions on several Indian companies and citizens. In it was the name of the 'Ideological Base of BJP' Sangh. Not only that, USCIRF also proposed to ban India's intelligence agency RAW. According to them, freedom of religion in India is being hampered by these two organizations. Therefore, the US should ban their entry and confiscate their assets.
