IND vs SL: The second Test match between India and Sri Lanka will be played from August 23, where both the teams will face each other at the Sinhalese Sports Club (SSC). Sri Lanka has made two changes in its squad for this match. For this second Test to be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka Cricket has included batsman Kamil Mishara and all-rounder Sahan Arachige in the team. Kusal Mendis out of second test due to injury

According to the report of Cricbuzz, Sri Lanka has included Sahan Arachige and Kamil Mishra in its squad for the second Test match against India. At the same time, star batsman Kusal Mendis has not yet recovered from his hamstring injury. He was not included in the Sri Lankan squad even for the Galle Test, but it was expected that he could make a comeback in the second Test match. However, due to not being completely fit, he has now been ruled out of the Colombo Test.

Dinesh Chandimal out due to ICC rules

Dinesh Chandimal got injured while fielding on the fourth day of the Galle Test, due to which he was ruled out of the mid-match and in his place, Pasindu Suriyabandara was included in the mid-match playing 11 as a concussion substitute. Now according to ICC rules, Dinesh Chandimal will not be able to play the second test match. According to ICC rules, if a player is out of the match due to a head injury (concussion), then under the security protocol he cannot return to the field for the next 7 days. Since the second test match between India and Sri Lanka is starting from 23rd August, their 7 days will not be completed till then.

Acharige had performed brilliantly in the series against India A.

Sahan Arachige has not yet made his Test debut for Sri Lanka. Sahan had performed brilliantly in the unofficial test series between India A and Sri Lanka A team. In the second match of that series, Sahan Arachige played an inning of 127 runs. Whereas Kamil Mishara had done wonders with the bat in the recently concluded Lanka Premier League 2026 season. Now it remains to be seen what will be the playing 11 of Sri Lanka in the second test match against India. Team India would like to win another series by winning the Colombo Test.
