India bagged two medals in the men's Javelin Throw event final at the Asian Games 2026 on Monday. Yashveer Singh won silver for the country while Rohit Yadav won bronze. Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga won the gold medal of this event.

India's Yashveer Singh finished second with a best throw of 85.72 meters at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium. Yashveer cleared 85.72 meters in his sixth attempt. His previous best was 85.14.

Yashveer achieved a length of 83.56 meters in the first attempt, 82.99 meters in the second attempt, 82.42 meters in the third attempt and 84.31 meters in the fourth attempt. His fifth attempt was 85.14 meters.

Rohit succeeds in the third attempt

Rohit Yadav, on the other hand, did his best with 84.35m to win bronze for his country. Rohit had achieved this success in his third attempt. He threw 77.25 meters in the first attempt, 82.40 meters in the second, 84.35 meters in the third, 82.16 meters in the fourth and 82.15 meters in the fifth attempt. His sixth attempt was a foul.

Brilliant performance by Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka's Ramesh Tharanga won the gold medal with a brilliant performance. Rumesh cleared 88 meters in his fourth attempt, followed by his personal best of 88.55 meters in his sixth and final attempt.

Tharanga had cleared 73.53 meters in his first attempt, after which he threw the javelin 83.34 meters in his next attempt. His third attempt was disallowed, after which he reached the top of the points table after a length of 88.33 metres. Tharanga's fifth attempt was also a foul, but he sealed the title with a javelin throw of 88.55 meters in his final and sixth attempt.
