New Delhi. On the complaint filed against Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on the charge of insulting Hanuman ji, the Rouse Avenue court has called for the status report of the case from the SHO of Kashmiri Gate police station. After perusing the complaint, application and attached documents, the court has directed the police to inform the present status of the case.
The next hearing of the case will be on October 15. This case is registered in the name of CNR number 120003692026 and case number 19/2026, Ramniwas Sharma vs Smt. Rekha Gupta. The complaint has been filed under section 223 of the Indian Civil Defense Code. Along with this, an application has also been filed under Section 175(3). The case is said to be to ISBT area under Police Station Kashmiri Gate. On October 3, the case was heard before Judge Ashwani Panwar in the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate-04, Rouse Avenue. Complainant Ramniwas Sharma, Chairman of the Right to Information Department of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee and his advocate Sanjeet Kumar were present in the court.
The court order states that a new complaint has been received and it should be investigated and registered. After reviewing the records, the court asked for a status report from the police station incharge of Kashmiri Gate. Instructions have been given to take necessary action by sending the complaint, application and attached documents along with a copy of the order to the police station head.
Complainant Ramniwas Sharma alleges that the alleged statement of the Chief Minister has hurt the religious sentiments of crores of people who have faith in Hanuman ji and it is tantamount to insulting Hanuman ji. However, the court has not yet given any conclusion on the veracity of these allegations. There is no instruction given in the present order to register an FIR. Now the case will be heard further in the court on the basis of the police status report. The next hearing has been scheduled on October 15, 2026 at 11:30 am.
