AB de Villiers: It is said that age is just a number in sports and this has been proved once again by former South African batsman AB de Villiers. It has been years since he said goodbye to international cricket, but the fear of De Villiers, famously known as 'Mr 360 Degree', is still the same in the hearts of bowlers. In an explosive match of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) on the grounds of Sharjah, South African Champions captain De Villiers created such a ruckus that the fans remembered his old days. Brutalizing the bowlers of the West Indies Champions, he played a blazing innings of 70 runs in just 39 balls and gave his team a one-sided victory.

AB de Villiers rained fours and sixes all around the field

AB de Villiers, who came to bat at number three, started thrashing the Caribbean bowlers as soon as he came to the crease. He hit such shots all around the field that West Indies captain Chris Gayle and his bowlers just kept watching. 'Mr 360' completed his half-century in just 27 balls. Although, he was out on the ball of Dwayne Bravo in the last over of the match, but before returning to the pavilion, he created a whole atmosphere on the Sharjah ground by hitting 5 sixes and 4 fours in his explosive innings.

West Indies bowlers brutally beaten

De Villiers' dangerous form was seen in the 13th over of the South African Champions' innings. He scored 17 runs alone, taking a single over of spinner Dave Mohammed on remand. After this, he did not even spare West Indies' express fast bowler Fidel Edwards and sent his balls beyond the boundary. De Villiers batted with an explosive strike rate of 179.49, due to which South Africa scored a mountain of runs on the board. Under the pressure of this huge score, the Caribbean team completely disintegrated and failed to chase the target.

South Africa made a strong start to defend the title

Let us tell you that South Africa Champions have come to defend the trophy in this tournament. Last season too, AB de Villiers created a stir with the bat and scored 431 runs and won the trophy for his team. Now, in his very first match of World Championship of Legends Season-3, Captain De Villiers has given a clear warning to the other teams by playing a explosive inning that he is out to defend the title. He has expressed that even though he is 42 years old, his class and unique style of playing shots all around the field is still unique in the world, which is impossible for any bowler to face.
