Chandigarh: Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon hit back at chief minister Bhagwant Mann over his post on X targeting the BJP over CBI raids , saying the probe into allegations against the Punjab government was ordered by the Punjab and Haryana high court , not the BJP.
“The orders for the CBI investigation have been issued by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, not by the BJP,” Dhillon said. He accused the AAP government of trying to shift blame and urged it to cooperate with the probe.
“The blatant dishonesty and corruption of the Aam Aadmi Party have now come to light before the people of Punjab,” he said, adding that the government would have to “account for the loot of the rights of the people of Punjab”.
SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal also reacted to the development, saying the CBI action had “sent shockwaves through the power corridors”.
“For four and a half years, Punjab has been subjected to hollow promises and allegations of scams, corruption and abuse of power. Now, the very corridors of power are under the CBI scanner,” Badal said, adding that those responsible would have to face the consequences.
