WhatsApp has announced a new Guest Calling feature that allows users to invite anyone to join a call, even if they do not have a WhatsApp account. The feature supports end-to-end encrypted calls without time limits, making it easier for users to connect with people who are not on the platform.

The new feature is available through WhatsApp’s Calls section, where users can create an invitation link and share it with others.

How WhatsApp Guest Calling Works

With Guest Calling, a host can generate a call invitation link and share it with anyone they want to join. People receiving the link can join the call without creating a WhatsApp account.

However, guests are placed in a waiting room and can enter the call only after the host admits them. The host can also remove guests from the call at any time.

WhatsApp says guest calls remain end-to-end encrypted and do not have time limits.

Guest Privacy and Calling Controls

WhatsApp has included privacy restrictions for guest participants. Guests cannot see the phone numbers of other participants, send them messages or call them directly.

Despite these restrictions, guests can participate in calls using several interactive features. They can share their screens, send reactions and raise their hands during a call.

These controls allow guests to take part in conversations while limiting their access to other participants’ contact information.

WhatsApp Call Links Coming to Google and Outlook Calendar

WhatsApp also plans to introduce integrations with Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar later in 2026.

The integrations will allow users to create WhatsApp call links directly from their calendars, making it easier to schedule calls and share invitations with participants.

The company has not specified an exact release date for these calendar integrations.
