The proposed Red Line of Bengaluru’s Namma Metro stretching from Hebbal in the North to Sarjapura in the Southeast, is set to be a game changer for city commuters.

Covering around 37 kilometres with 28 stations – 17 elevated and 11 underground – this metro line aims to decongest Bengaluru’s traffic and offer smoother public transport.

Having said that, the Red Line project has already received approval from the Karnataka state government in December 2024, but it still awaits a final go-ahead from the Union Cabinet. Once cleared, the construction is expected to start by the end of 2024, as per Times Now.

It will also include interchange stations with other metro lines like the Purple Line and the upcoming Blue Line.

With an estimated cost of Rs 28,405 crore, the Red Line will improve access to bustling areas like Koramangala and Sarjapura, known for their tech offices and residential zones.
