Susmita Sen , one of the most seasoned actresses in the Indian entertainment industry, started off in a completely different field that got her where she is now. Today marks a historical day not only for the veteran actress but for the country as well. 31 years ago today, Sushmita Sen brought home the first-ever Miss Universe title that India had won in 1994. In celebration of the anniversary, the actress penned a heartfelt note on her social media platforms.
Sushmita Sen pens down an emotional note on Miss Universe anniversary The actress recently took to her online social media platforms to share throwback photos from her time at the Miss Universe competition. Ranging from the viral photo that captures the winning moment to her gracefully posing with her well-deserved Miss Universe sash and crowns.
She opened up the post with the memorable caption “A historical win that introduced an 18-year-old Indian girl to the Universe!!!” The actress then proceeded to share a number of rare and never-seen-before throwback photos that take us back through her journey towards the Miss Universe crown. She continued her caption, saying, “Opening up a world of possibilities, highlighting the strength of hope, the power of inclusion, the generosity of love…”
She also thanked everyone around her in the post for the opportunity that was provided to her through this journey. She shared that “To travel the world & to have the privilege of meeting some of the most inspiring people…life defining for sure!!!”
Not only that, but Sushmita also shared a line of dedication for her parents. In her post she adds the line “Thank you, God, Maa @subhra51 & Baba @sensubir” and then continues to share how much she will cherish the title. Sen also adds how proud she is for representing India at such a stage and for having the privilege of bringing the first-ever Miss Universe title to the country.
She adds in her post, “Happy 31st Anniversary of India’s first-ever victory at Miss Universe!!! To have the honour of representing my country, I will proudly cherish forever!!!”
She ends the post with a small dedication to achieving your dreams and achieving the impossible. She concludes the post with the line, “Here’s to dreams, the impossible kinds… For I know the UNIVERSE conspires in our favour!!”
