are the backbone of any skincare routine, but finding one that goes beyond basic hydration can feel like chasing a unicorn.
As someone with combination skin and a healthy dose of product fatigue (perks of being a beauty editor), I've tried a lot of formulas from cult favourites to under-the-radar launches, and not all truly impress me. Some lack protection, others don't sit right under makeup, and many just don't deliver the promised results.
So when I discovered , it stood out-not just as a great moisturiser but as a daily essential that effortlessly covers all the bases. I often recommend it to friends, but its high price tag (a RRP of £59) can be quite an investment.
But if you do fancy trying it out, now is a good time, as you can snap it up witha saving of nearly £12. The and versions of the day cream are discounted, and the Look Fantastic deal means both creams are cheaper than (where they remain full price).
In my experience, the Medki8 protective day moisturiser is light and silky-somewhere between a cream and a gel-and sinks in fast without leaving that dreaded white cast. There is no pilling, shine, or weird SPF smell. Just plump, hydrated skin that looks glowy but not greasy.
I even wore it under foundation on a hot, sweaty day, and it didn't budge, scoring it major points. It covers UVA, UVB, infrared, blue light, and pollution, which basically means it's working overtime while I get on with my day (or sit in front of a screen).
However, the main downside for me is its high price tag of nearly £60 (which is why the caught my eye).
I am not the only fan, with one reviewer on Lookfantastic saying: "I have used various other SPF 50 sunscreens previously and they have always had down sides. Not with this one!"
Another winced at the price but said: "I love it and keep repurchasing. It is so moisturising, anti-ageing and has SPF 50! Great under makeup. A bit expensive, but I always buy it when it is on offer!"
Of course, the extra addition of SPF included in the Medki8 everyday moisturiser is one I always get behind. If there's a single skincare step worth getting serious about, it's sun protection.
nd while we all know we should be wearing SPF daily, the reality is that layering a separate sunscreen over your usual moisturiser can feel like one step too many. This is why Medik8's Advanced Day is so brilliant. I think of it as my skincare shortcut: hydration, protection, and skin-supporting actives all in one.
