New Delhi [India], Angkrish Raghuvanshi, a batsman with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), has stated his ambition to represent India in all cricket competitions, including Test matches.
At the 2022 Under-19 World Cup, Mumbai-born Raghuvanshi, a right-handed top-order batsman, was the top scorer with 278 runs from six innings while playing for India.
At a cost of 30 lakh, he was acquired by the Knight Riders for the 2025 season after making his debut for them in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
“I want to play all formats of the game, including Test cricket,” according to Wisden.com, which cited Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
Radhuvanshi also considered how the IPL is more difficult overall.
“In the IPL, they spin the ball more and bowl quicker.
Raghuvanshi emphasized the value of playing cricket in order to develop one’s skills, self-awareness, and ability to adjust to various forms. He emphasizes the need of practicing often and playing as many games as you can.
“Playing as much cricket as you can and accumulating experience is more important. You have a greater understanding of who you are and how to change forms. It’s easy: I play as many games as I can, but I also practice as much as I can.
Raghuvanshi credited his time in Mumbai, where there is fierce rivalry for places, and his experience batting with Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav with improving his spin game.
Because the ball twists a lot on certain Mumbai surfaces, playing there has improved my ability to counter spin. I like learning how to play spin from Suryakumar Yadav. I attempt to observe his batting technique and his attempts to counter spinners. I like watching and learning from the way he plays the field and the bowlers,” he said.
The reigning champions had a very poor IPL 2025 season; with five victories, seven losses, and two games with no outcome in their 14 games, KKR ended eighth in the standings with 12 points.
But Raghuvanshi continued to be a ray of hope. He was one of only two KKR hitters to reach 300 runs after being purchased back by the team in the auction, along with captain Ajinkya Rahane.
