A major road accident took place near Bhave High School in Pune’s Sadashiv Peth area on Saturday evening, when a speeding car ran over a group of people, injuring at least a dozen MPSC aspirants.


Among the injured are several MPSC students who had gathered at a local tea stall. All injured individuals have been rushed to Sancheti and Modak Hospitals for treatment. Reportedly the condition of some students is said to be critical. Among those injured are 9 boys and 3 girls.


The accused driver has been identified as Jairam Shivaji Mule. Reportedly, Mule was under the influence of alcohol. Police have taken the driver into custody and further investigation is in underway.
