IIT Bombay Revises Eligibility Criteria For MBA Admissions: IIT Bombay has made a big change to its MBA program starting from the 2025-27 batch. Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) of IIT Bombay said that now students with a 3-year bachelor's degree in any subject (such as Arts, Commerce, Science, etc.) can also apply. Earlier only students with a 4-year degree (mainly engineering) or master's degree were eligible. Students from various backgrounds including Arts to Science can also apply for this course.

New Eligibility Criteria for MBA 2025-27

Candidates must fulfill the following requirements to apply for an MBA:

The candidate must have a bachelor's degree with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) or a minimum of 6.5 CPI (6 for SC/ST/PWD candidates) from a recognized Indian university or institute.

Students in the final year of a bachelor's degree or candidates awaiting results can also apply for admission to IIT Bombay's MBA program, provided they have obtained a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD candidates) or equivalent in aggregate in their latest completed examination.

Candidates must have a valid CAT score.

As per the criteria of last year (2024), only four-year bachelor's degree or master's degree holders were eligible. The minimum marks and CPI requirements were the same.

MBA Admission Process at IIT Bombay The admission process for IIT Bombay's MBA program takes place in two stages-

Stage I: Candidates are shortlisted for a personal interview (PI) based on valid CAT score, academic performance, and work experience.

Stage II: The final selection is made based on a composite score including CAT score, academic background, work experience, and performance in PI.
