A significant initiative has been launched in Delhi to facilitate the education of children with special needs. The Delhi government's Directorate of Education has begun the admission process for the new session at 12 special government and aided schools in the capital. These schools will admit children from nursery to 10th and 12th grades. Online registration will begin on March 9th and continue until March 17th. These schools provide dedicated educational facilities and resources for children with visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, and other special needs, ensuring their optimal learning and development.

Online Application Process to Begin March 9th According to the Directorate of Education, online applications for admission to Delhi's 12 special government and aided schools will begin on March 9th. Interested parents will be able to register their children until March 17th. This admission process will apply to classes from nursery to 10th and 12th grades.

Document verification will take place between March 18th and 23rd. After applying online, parents will need to visit the respective school between March 18th and 23rd to submit the required documents. During this time, the school administration will verify all documents. Further processing will only be completed after receiving the correct documents.

Schools will be allocated on April 1st. According to the Directorate of Education, registered students will be allocated schools on April 1st, based on seat availability. The entire admission process will be completed by April 2nd so that the new session can begin on time.

Selection will be done through a lottery if there are more applications than seats available for a particular class. If there are more applications than seats available for a particular class, students will be selected through a draw or lottery. If necessary, this process will be conducted on March 24th at 11:00 am in the presence of the school management committee and parents, ensuring a completely transparent selection process.

The list of selected students will be sent by March 25th. After document verification and the selection process are complete, all school principals will send the final list of selected students to the Inclusive Education Branch headquarters by March 25th.

Vacant seats will be filled through the waiting list. If some seats remain vacant after the first list, students on the waiting list will be admitted based on their priority between April 3rd and April 5th.
