The Dune: Part 3 update you have been waiting for is finally here! The makers have released the first-look posters for several characters from the film on Tuesday, March 17. New posters for Dune 3 unveiled the first look at Robert Pattinson, while also confirming the return of Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho. Here are more deets.

Dune: Part 3 will see Zendaya reprise her role as Chani, alongside Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica and Javier Bardem as Stilgar. Anya Taylor-Joy joins as Alia Atreides, with Florence Pugh returning as Princess Irulan.

The film stars Robert Pattinson as antagonist Scytale. Fans will also be excited to know that Duncan Idaho is expected to return despite the character’s apparent death in the 2021 film.

During the press tour of Dune 2, Villeneuve had said part 3 would expand the roles for Pugh, Seydoux and Anya-Taylor Joy. So, we are expecting to see more of them on screen in the upcoming part.

Legendary Pictures

While Dune 3 is based on Frank Herbert's 1969 novel, Dune: Messiah, Dune: Part One (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024) were based on Herbert's 1965 novel, Dune. A third film was officially confirmed by Legendary Pictures in August 2024, with Denis returning to direct.

The plot follows Paul Atreides' (Chalamet) family, the noble House Atreides, taking control of the desert planet Arrakis.

As per American cinema chain Alamo Drafthouse, Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 3 is the most anticipated film of 2026. Followed by Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey,Avengers: Doomsday, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Dune 3 will release on December 18, 2026.
