PM Kisan 23rd Installment: There is a major update for the crores of farmers awaiting the 23rd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. On June 20, 2026, the government will transfer ₹2,000 to farmers' accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). However, the installment could get stuck for farmers who have not completed the 'Land Seeding' verification process. Let us look at the complete procedure to rectify this.

PM Kisan 23rd Installment: There is good news for the crores of farmers across the country benefiting from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The government is set to release the scheme's next—the 23rd—installment on June 20, 2026. Under this installment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer ₹2,000 directly into farmers' bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

However, there could be a significant hurdle this time. The government has introduced some strict changes to the rules, which could result in the ₹2,000 payment being withheld for many farmers. If you want your installment to be credited to your account without any interruption, you must immediately complete the 'Land Seeding' process.

What is this Land Seeding verification?

Simply put, land seeding means linking your cultivable land documents (such as *Khatauni* or *Fard*) with the PM Kisan portal's database. Through this verification, the government ensures that the scheme's benefits reach only those farmers who are genuinely engaged in farming and are eligible for the program.

If you check your status on the PM Kisan portal and see 'No' displayed next to 'Land Seeding,' it means the government has not received verified data regarding your land. In such a scenario, your installment will be withheld.

Three Mandatory Conditions to Receive the Installment

To ensure transparency and prevent fraud in the scheme, the government has established three essential rules. Your installment will be released only if the status for all three of these criteria shows 'Yes'.

  • e-KYC: Your digital verification must be completed.
  • Aadhaar-Bank Account Linking: Your bank account must be linked to your Aadhaar, and DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) must be active.
  • Land Seeding: Land records must be linked on the portal.
  • If the status for any of these three is 'Pending' or 'No', your name could be excluded from the final list of beneficiaries eligible to receive the payment.

How to get Land Seeding verified if the status is 'No'?

This process is not completed online but through local revenue department officials. The procedure to rectify this is outlined below:

Meet the Lekhpal or Patwari: First, visit the Lekhpal or Patwari of your area or the nearest Agriculture Department office.Carry necessary documents: Bring along key land documents (such as *Khatauni* or *Fard*), a photocopy of your Aadhaar card, and your PM Kisan Yojana registration number.Verification process: Inform the Patwari that your status on the portal appears as 'No'. They will cross-check your land details against official government records (registers) and verify them in the online system.
